Terms of use

The rules for using JP Finder Jamaica.

Last updated 1 November 2026

Draft
This is a working draft written by the project team. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer or checked against the Data Protection Act. It will change before launch.

Using the service

By using this website you agree to these terms. JP Finder Jamaica is an independent directory. It is not an official service and is not affiliated with the Government of Jamaica or the Ministry of Justice.

Information may be wrong

Listings come from published lists and from the JPs themselves. We try to keep them accurate but we cannot promise they are complete, current or correct. Confirm a JP’s details and authority before you rely on them.

Booking

An appointment request is not a booking until the JP confirms it. JPs may decline, cancel or propose a different time. The service between you and a JP is your arrangement with them; we are not a party to it.

Your account

  • Give accurate details and keep your email account secure, because it is how you sign in.
  • Do not put identity numbers, documents or details of your case in appointment descriptions. Keep them short and non-sensitive.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the Account page.

For Justices of the Peace

  • Claim only your own listing. A claim is reviewed by an administrator and may be refused or later withdrawn.
  • Keep your details accurate, and answer appointment requests promptly.
  • You are responsible for your own commission and for the services you provide.

Acceptable use

  • Do not scrape the directory, contact listed people in bulk, or use the data for marketing or unsolicited messages.
  • Do not make false reports, impersonate anyone, or try to disrupt or break into the service.
  • We may limit requests, suspend accounts or remove content that breaks these rules.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from relying on a listing, from a missed or cancelled appointment, or from the service being unavailable. Nothing here limits any right you have under Jamaican law that cannot be limited.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. We may change them; the date above shows the latest version, and continued use means you accept the change.
