About JP Finder Jamaica

What this is

JP Finder Jamaica is a working name for an independent directory of Justices of the Peace (JPs). You can search by name, parish, community or service, find JPs near you, and see the public contact details a JP has published.

It is not an official service. It is not run by, endorsed by or affiliated with the Government of Jamaica or the Ministry of Justice.

Where the listings come from

Listings start from lists of Justices of the Peace published by the Ministry of Justice. We use them with the Ministry’s permission. Only the details in those lists are shown, and only what is marked public appears in search.

A JP can claim their listing. After an administrator has reviewed the claim, the JP can correct their details, choose which contacts and meeting places are public, and decide whether to take appointment requests online.

Booking

Online booking is available only for JPs who have claimed their listing and switched it on. Booking sends a request. The JP decides whether to confirm it, and you are told by email and in the app. Until a JP confirms, nothing is booked.

Many JPs are listed for contact only. For them, use the phone number or email shown on their page.

What we do not do

• We do not give legal advice.
• We do not check a JP’s commission or authority beyond reviewing their claim. If it matters for your document, confirm it with the JP or the Ministry of Justice.
• We do not take payment for appointments.

Corrections and removal

If something on a listing is wrong, or you are listed and want to be removed, use “Report a problem” on the listing page. No account is needed. A person reviews every report. A removal request is permanent: the listing will not be published again, even if the original list is loaded again later.
